Lofer is the most family friendly village of the four villages in the Salzburger valley. This cozy village sits at an altitude of 639m and has a population of 2000 inhabitants and offers accommodation to 2180 guests. In spite of the fact that Lofer covers 55 km2, it is the smallest village and has the highest population density.
Because of its central position Lofer forms the centre of the Salzburger valley. Therefore Lofer is the ideal starting point for many of the recreational activities that the valley offers. However at night people withdraw to the romantic fairy-like centre to enjoy traditional Saalachtaler dishes in the many restaurants.
