| During the winter, the beautiful landscape of the saalach valley changes into a real fairy tale. Under a thick layer of snow, you feel you’re in magical surroundings. Especially in the winter, you will notice the friendly and social able character of the local inhabitants. Everywhere in Lofer whether you’re on the Lofer Alm, in a ski-bar, or enjoying a meal in one of the restaurants you will feel at home in our village. |  |
In the winter months, there are numerous ways to undertake sportive activities. Besides the skiing and snowboarding there are many other possibilities.
You can for example go ice-skating, tobogganing (sledding), winter walking, snowshoe walking or go curling.

Do you find all of this to exhausting, than you can also make a journey with a sleigh. This is quite a romantic way to see Lofer and its beautiful surroundings. |
A visit to the "Christkindlmarkt" market in the "Mozartstad" Salzburg is certainly worthwhile.
You can also visit the "Christkindlmarkt" in Lofer, with the various 'Glühwein' stalls and other specialties. Very amusing is one of the numerous performances of the children from the four villages.
